Professor Dongsu Kim Receives the Minister’s Award of Science and ICT of Korea for His Dedication to Science and Education

On behalf of the Minister of Science and ICT of Korea, President Kwang Hyung Lee of KAIST hosted an award ceremony on June 3, 2021 to recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty members who have worked continuously for the university over 25 years.

Professor Dongsu Kim was among the awardees who have received the Minister’s Lifetime Contribution Award to Science and Education.

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of KAIST, the minister presented the award to six faculty and four staff members who have dedicated a big chunk of their life to the development of the university.

Joined the Department of Mathematical Sciences in March 1993, Professor Kim has led a combinatorics research group and advised a number of master’s and Ph.D. students.

He also held the position of a dean of admissions and the head of the department, as well as served on several committees within the department, including faculty recruitment, curriculum reformation, and editorial board for newsletters.
