각 과정 자퇴 및 제적 학생에 대한 2017학년도 봄학기 재입학 신청 절차를 아래와 같이 안내합니다.
= 아 래 =
가. 재입학 대상 : 학사 및 석,박사과정 학생 중 자퇴, 제적자
나. 재입학원 제출기한
o 학생 제출기간 : 2016. 12. 15(목)까지 학과/전공 사무실에 제출
o 학과/전공 심사기간 : 2016. 12. 16(금) - 12. 22(목)
o 학과/전공 심사결과 학적팀 제출 : 2016. 12. 29(목)까지
다. 재입학 신청 자격
o 자퇴 또는 제적일로부터 3년이 경과되지 않은 자.
o 아래에 해당되는 자는 재입학을 신청할 수 없음.
- 재학연한 만료에 의하여 제적된 자(2008년 입학생까지)
- 재학연한 만료에 의하여 제적된 자 또는 재학연한을 연장한 후에 제적
또는 자퇴자 (2009년 입학생 이후)
※ 재입학 지원가능기간(3년 이내)내에는 군복무기간 및 장기간 요양을 필요로
하는 질병치료기간은 산입하지 않음.(관련 증빙자료 첨부필요)
o 재입학은 자퇴 또는 제적일이 속하는 학기를 포함하여 2학기가 경과하여야함.

마. 학과/전공에서의 재입학 심의 추천
지도교수, 학과장/전공책임교수, 학과/전공내 교수1인을 포함한 3인으로 구성된
심의위원회 또는 학과/전공 관련위원회에서 지도교수의 의견서, 면학계획서 등을
참고하여 재입학 신청자의 수학능력여부, 잔여재학기간 내 졸업가능여부 등을
종합심사하여 추천함. 다만, 학사과정 학생의 경우, 학생정책처장이 학과/전공
에서 추천된 재입학지원자를 면담 심사한 후, 심사결과에 대하여 학생정책처장이
학사·연구심의위원회에서 결과를 발표함.
※ 자퇴, 제적 당시 학사과정 무학과 학생은 신청(예정)학과/전공의 심의를 받아야 함.
바. 재입학지원서류
1) 재입학원 1부 (소정양식)
2) 면학계획서 1부 (소정양식)
3) 지도(예정)교수 의견서 1부 (소정양식)
4) 재입학심의 추천서 1부 (소정양식)
5) 성적표 1부
6) 학칙 제55조 5항에 의한 군복무 또는 질병치료를 증명할수 있는 서류(해당자)
사. 기타 재입학 관련사항
o 기 취득한 학점은 별도의 인정 절차 없이 성적표에 기재된 모든 학점(성적)을
그대로 인정함.
o 재입학자의 졸업 이수요건은 처음 입학당시의 해당요건을 적용함.
o 재입학자의 재학기간은 각 과정에 처음 입학한 날로 부터 기산함.
o 학사경고에 의해 제적된 후 재입학한 학생이 재차 학사경고를 받을시 제적됨.
o 자격시험 불합격으로 인해 제적된 후 재입학한 학생은 재입학 후 휴학기간
(1학기의 휴학기간은 제외)을 포함하여 1년 이내에 자격시험에 합격하여야
하며, 이 기간이 경과하여도 합격하지 못한 학생에 대하여는 제적함.
o 재입학은 1회에 한하며 원 학년 이하에 허가 할수 있음.
o 재입학자의 납입금은 "납입금 징수규정"에 의거 납부하여야 함.

Refer to the instructions below on application for readmission in Spring 2017 for dropouts
and expelled students.
Readmission documents must be evaluated by the department/division and submitted to
the Office of Academic Affairs (Academic Registrar's Team) by Thursday, December 29, 2016.

A. Eligibility: Dropouts and expelled students on Undergraduate or Graduate programs
B. Deadlines:
- Submission by students : Submit to the department/division office by
Thursday, December 15, 2016
- Evaluation by Departments/Divisions : Friday, December 16 ~ Thursday,
December 22, 2016
- Submission of Departments/Divisions evaluation result to Academic
Registrar's Team : Thursday, December 29, 2016
C. Conditions for Readmission
o No more than 3 years from the date of dropout or expulsion.
o Students who belong to the following categories are not eligible for
readmission.
- Students expelled due to expiration of the prescribed period limit.
(For those who entered KAIST in 2008 or before)
- Students expelled due to expiration of the prescribed period limit or
students dropped out of school/expelled after getting study period
extended. (For students who entered KAIST in 2009 or afterwards)
※ Time spent for military service or long-term treatment of illness shall
not be calculated in the precribed period limit for readmission.
(requested to attach supporting documents for proof)
- Readmission is possible after 2 semesters including the semester in
which dropping out or expulsion occurred.

E. Recommendation for Readmission by Department/Division
The candidate is evaluated on academic capacity, remaining number of
semesters, and possibility of graduation based on the advisor's opinion on
readmission and future study plan by a three-members review committee
consisting of the the advisor, department/division head, and department/
division professor, or a department/division-related committee.
For undergraduate students, the Dean of Student Affairs and Policy will
interview the recommended candidate and results will be announced
through the Academic/Research Review Committee.
※ Students who were on Undelcared Major at the time of dropping or
expulsion must choose an intended department and will be reviewed by
the department.
F. Requred Documents for Readmission
1) Application for Readmission (prescribed form)
2) Future Study Plan (prescribed form)
3) Opinion of Advisor on Readmission (prescribed form)
4) Recommendation for Readmission (prescribed form)
5) Academic Transcript
6) Proof of military service or medical condition as outlined in Article55-5
of Academic Regulations (if applicable)
G. Others
- Previously earned credits will be automatically recognized without any
additional procedure.
- Requirements for graduation will be unchanged from the date of initial
admission.
- The prescribed time limit of the readmitted student will be counted
from the date of initial admission.
- Students readmitted after expulsion will be expelled upon receiving
an academic warning.
- Students expelled due to failing the qualifying exam must pass the exam
within 1 year(including the period of taking a leave of absence except
maximum 1 semester) of readmission, or will face expulsion again if
requirements are not met.
- Students can be readmitted only once and will be accepted to the
original academic year or lower.
- Tuition for readmitted students shall follow the rules on "Imposition of
Tuition fees"
