Job Description
Bell Labs Seoul seeks to hire a graduate student as a summer intern who will work on 'Computational Modeling and Simulation of the Smart Power Grid' in summer 2011 as a part of Gachon Energy Research Institute (GERI) ? Bell Labs Smart Grid Research Program. Successful applicant should be a graduate student, studying toward Ph.D. or M.S. degree in science or engineering discipline, in a degree granting institution. Knowledge and experience in electric power grid engineering is a plus but not required. Bell Labs Seoul strives to work with talented graduate students in the summer with solid background and broad interests as opposed to specific subject training or experience. The duration of this employment will be 8-10 weeks starting in June, 2011. This position is supported by GERI ? Bell Labs Smart Grid Research Program.
Job Requirement
Successful applicants generally have the following backgrounds and experiences:
? Ph.D. or M.S. students in Electrical Engineering, Applied or Computational Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or closely related field;
? Record of academic excellence;
? Experience developing prototype algorithms in Python and C or C++ in a Unix environment;
? Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly communicate technical details to mentors and peers

The institution is organized with professors of Kyungwon University and local and global energy experts under an R&D consortium that is in result of introducing a differentiated in R&D power.
