2011 Fall semester KAIST Exchange Program

International Relations Team (IRT) announces KAIST Exchange Programs with partner universities for 2011 Fall semester as follows. Students who are interested in this program can apply to IRT no later than 5pm Friday, February 25, 2011.

※ Important: Students who would like to participate in the 2011 fall semester exchange program must attend an Pre-Selection Training. The specific schedule for the Pre-Selection Training will be announced soon.

1) Eligibility: KAIST Bachelor', Master' and Doctoral Students (Minimum Acquired Credits-Undergraduate: 33 credits, Graduate: 9 credits)

2) Study Period: 6 months

3) Partner Universities: International Universities according to the Bilateral Cooperative Agreements    ※ refer to the attachment

4) Number of expected nominees per university: ※ refer to the attachment and IRT homepage, board section for more details

5) Expenses

- Tuition Fees: Exempt (Except fee paying program) at Host University

- Cost of living and other expenses: Participants are responsible

- KAIST overseas scholarship: 1.5 ? 2.5 million (won)/person

* Total amount of scholarships will be different depending on overseas universities’ location.

** Normally the overseas scholarship is for undergraduate students. However, if master and doctoral applicants do not have any external financial resources, they can be also considered.

*** The availability and amount of the scholarship is subject to change due to the scarcity of funding resources.

6) Eligibility:

- Grade Point Average above 3.0

- Students obtained sufficient language proficiency scores which relevant university requires

7) Application Deadline: Friday, February 25, 2011, 5 pm

8) Required Documents

l Transcript(including 2010 Fall)

l English Proficiency Test Result (IELTS, TOFEL, TEPS, TOEIC)

9) Selection

l Internal Selection: GPA(70%)+ English Proficiency Test Result (30%)

※ Students who do not attend the Ethics Session(tentative) cannot be selected as an exchange student

l Selection at Host University

10) Schedule (subject to change)

l 1^th week of March: Pre-Selection Training, Result of Internal Selection

l 2^st week of March: Applications to the partner universities

l October of 2011: Scholarship Payment

11) Etc.

- If the selected students receive GPA below 3.0 in 2011 Spring, they have to pay the tuition according to their GPA for 2011 Fall and 2012 Spring.

- The final decision of acceptance will be made by Host Universities.

- If a selected student withdraws from the program without reasonable cause, his or her application can be denied at the next selection.

- All the submitted documents will not be returned.

- All exchange students are required to take at least 2 major courses, including double major or minor, and transfer at least 9 credits to KAIST once they return.
