아시아태평양지역 대학생 수학경시대회인 Simon Marais Math Competition에 8년 전부터 KAIST도 참가하여 여러 학생이 수상했습니다. 2026년 대회에 참가할 KAIST 학부생들을 모집합니다.
1. 시험 일정 및 장소
시험 시간: 2026년 10월 10일 (토요일) / 3시간 시험 2회 실시 (정확한 시간은 추후 대회 홈페이지 공지)
시험 장소: KAIST (상세 고사장 추후 안내)
2. 참가 자격
KAIST 학생 기준: 2026년 가을학기 현재 KAIST 학사 과정 재학생 (휴학 기간을 제외한 학부 재학 기간이 4년을 넘지 않을 것, 현재 휴학생도 참여 가능)
3. 참가 방법 및 시험 형식
참여 방식: 개인(Individual) 또는 2인 1팀(Pair) 참여
시험 형식: 학부 핵심 수학을 다루는 도전적인 문제들이 출제되며, 오후 시험에는 오픈 프라블럼(Open problem)이 포함될 수 있습니다. (기출문제 및 샘플 문제는 공식 홈페이지 참고)
주의 사항: 2인 1팀(Pair)으로 참가하는 경우 시험 중에 두 명이 서로 논의하면서 문제를 풀 수 있습니다. 답안은 반드시 영어로 작성하여야 합니다.
참가비: 선착순 50개 팀까지 무료 지원

[Call for Participants] 2026 Simon Marais Mathematics Competition (For KAIST Undergraduates)
KAIST has been participating in the Simon Marais Mathematics Competition—an undergraduate mathematics competition for the Asia-Pacific region—for the past 8 years, with several students winning prizes. We are now recruiting KAIST undergraduate students to participate in the 2026 competition.
1. Exam Schedule & Venue
Date & Time: Saturday, 10 October 2026 / Two 3-hour exams (Specific times will be announced later on the official website)
Venue: KAIST (Specific exam room to be announced)
2. Eligibility
Undergraduate students at pre-registered universities located between New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) and Indian Standard Time (IST).
For KAIST students: Undergraduate students enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester. The total period of undergraduate enrollment must not exceed 4 years, excluding periods of leave of absence. (Students currently on leave of absence are also eligible to participate).
3. Format & Exam Details
Entry Type: Students can enter individually or in pairs.
Exam Format: Challenging problems using core undergraduate mathematics. Possibly one open problem in the afternoon exam. (Sample problems and previous exam questions are available on the official website).
Important Notes: If entering in pairs, the two members can discuss the problems with each other during the exam. All answers must be written in English.
Registration Fee: Free of charge for the first 50 teams on a first-come, first-served basis.
