===========================================================================
∙ 행 사 명: Distinguished Lecture on NIST PQC Standards ∙ 일 시: 2023년 9월 15일 15:00~16:00(QnA 1600:~17:00) ∙ 장 소: 서울대학교 자연대대형강의동 28동 101호 ∙ 연 사: Damien Stehlé(Professor, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France) ∙ 강연제목: CRYSTALS-KYBER, CRYSTALS-DILITHIUM and Beyond ∙ 초 록: A large quantum computer will be able to efficiently break a vast proportion of the currently deployed cryptographic protocols, which provide confidentiality and authenticity for electronic communications. Post-quantum cryptography aims at obtaining alternative cryptographic constructions that are secure even against quantum algorithms, while only requiring classical computations from honest entities. In this presentation, I will focus on two schemes based on Euclidean lattices that have been selected by the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) as future standards for post-quantum cryptography: the Kyber encryption scheme, and the Dilithium signature scheme. I will explain the underlying hardness assumptions and how they are used to obtain the desired cryptographic functionalities with good efficiency. I will also mention active research topics in the area of lattice-based cryptography. |
Seoul National University Event Announcement: Quantum-Resistant Cryptography Lecture
===========================================================================
Hello,
We would like to inform you about an upcoming event hosted by the Department of Mathematical Sciences' 10-10 Project and the Center for Mathematical Data Interpretation in Industry at Seoul National University. We have invited Professor Damien Stehle, a globally recognized expert in lattice-based quantum-resistant cryptography, to deliver a lecture.
Professor Damien Stehle is renowned for his significant contributions, including being the proposer of lattice-based quantum-resistant algorithms CRYSTALS-KYBER and CRYSTALS-DILITHIUM, which were selected by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in July 2022.
Join us to gain insights into the latest trends and developments in quantum-resistant cryptography directly from a leading expert in the field.
We kindly request your attendance and participation.
We encourage you to pre-register using the provided link and submit any questions you may have in advance. This will ensure a more informative session.
∙ Event: Distinguished Lecture on NIST PQC Standards
∙ Date: September 15, 2023, 15:0016:00 (QnA session: 16:0017:00)
∙ Venue: Building 28, Room 101, College of Natural Sciences, Seoul National University
∙ Speaker: Professor Damien Stehlé (École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France)
∙ Lecture Title: CRYSTALS-KYBER, CRYSTALS-DILITHIUM and Beyond
∙ Abstract: The advent of quantum computers poses a significant threat to current cryptographic protocols. Post-quantum cryptography seeks to develop alternative cryptographic schemes that remain secure even against quantum algorithms. In this lecture, Professor Stehlé will focus on two lattice-based schemes selected by NIST for post-quantum cryptography: the Kyber encryption scheme and the Dilithium signature scheme. He will discuss the underlying hardness assumptions and their application to achieve secure and efficient cryptographic functionalities. He will also touch upon active research areas in the field of lattice-based cryptography.
