아시아태평양지역 대학생 수학경시대회인 Simon Marais Math Competition에 2018년부터 KAIST도 참가하여 여러 학생이 수상했습니다.
2020년 대회에 참가할 KAIST 학부생들을 모집합니다.
개최 일시는 10월 10일 (토요일) 이며 오전 10시~오후 1시, 오후 2시:30분~5시:30분에 걸쳐 시험이 실시됩니다.
참가신청 마감: 2020.9.18. (금요일)
참가비는 선착순 50개의 팀까지는 무료입니다. 개인으로 참가하거나 짝(pair)으로 참가할 수 있습니다.
짝(pair)으로 참가하는 경우 시험 중 두 명이 서로 논의를 하면서 문제를 풀어 제출하게 됩니다. 답안은 영어로 작성하여야 합니다.
- 시험시간: 10월 10일 (토요일) 오전 10시~오후 1시, 오후 2시:30분~5시:30분
- 시험장소 : KAIST (추후 공지)
- 자격 : KAIST 학사 과정 학생 (2020년 가을학기 현재 KAIST 학부과정 재학생으로서, 휴학 제외 학부 재학기간이 4년을 넘지 않을 것. 현재 휴학생도 참여가능)

상금:
- Hofflin 상: 3000호주달러 (짝이 받는 경우 각각 1500달러) [어떤 문제에 가장 창의적인 풀이를 제출한 사람에게 수여]
- Merit 상: 1000호주달러 (짝이 받는 경우 각각 1000달러) [창의적이고 시각적인 풀이를 제출한 사람과 미해결문제에 부분적으로 공헌한 사람에게 수여, 최대 7팀]
*Merit 상이 새롭게 생겼으며, 개인상, 짝상, 대학상이 올해는 없습니다.

Eligibility: Undergraduate students at pre-registered universities located between New Zealand Standard Time and Indian Standard Time
Entry: Students can enter individually or in pairs, with prizes for the top 10 individuals and the top 10 pairs.
The best universities will be determined based on the scores of their 3 best individuals and 2 best pairs, no more than 4 students of any gender.
Universities can enter students in the Competition even if there are not enough students to calculate a University score as above.
The students will receive scores and be eligible for individual/ pairs prizes.
Format: Two three-hour exams on Saturday 10 October 2020, at times depending on the time-zone, to be held at universities.
Problems: Challenging problems using core undergraduate mathematics. Possibly one open problem in afternoon exam.

Prizes: AU$10,000 in total prize money. (see website for conditions).
