Faculty Positions Available
The Department of Mathematics at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) invites applications for permanent faculty positions. The positions are primarily at the Assistant Professor level, although senior candidates with strong credentials will also be considered, and they are open to Koreans as well as non-Koreans who are fluent in English.
POSTECH was founded in 1986 by the world-leading steel company, POSCO, and is an internationally renowned Korean academic institution dedicated to education and research in science and engineering. It has 4 science and 6 engineering departments in the undergraduate program and 15 graduate programs. The campus is located in the southeast of the Korean peninsula. POSTECH enrolls over 1,200 undergraduate students and 1,500 graduate students. The Department of Mathematics has 17 regular faculty members in pure and applied mathematics. Successful candidates are expected to establish a strong research program and to excel in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

POSTECH 수학과는 2007년 8월 16일부터 본 학과에서 비전임 대우조교수로 근무할 수 있는 우수 신진교원을 초빙합니다. 계약기간은 최대 2년이며 본교 정상 강의시수인 3과목/1년 (1.5과목/학기)을 담당하게 됩니다. 월봉은 300만원이며 대학의 숙소(아파트) 사용허가를 받을 수 있습니다. 단, 계약기간이 끝난 후 같은 직위로 재계약은 하지 않습니다. 뛰어난 신진 연구자들의 많은 응모를 격려합니다.

Visiting Assistant Professorship Position at Pohang University of
Science and Technology (POSTECH)

The Department of Mathematics at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) encourages young Ph.D.'s in Mathematics with strong research and teaching potential to apply for a visiting assistant professorship. The salary (including tax) will be 3 million Korean Won (approx. 3,000 US Dollars) and a university apartment unit may be provided at a very low or no rental cost.
