First and foremost, SMB2021 (https://www.smb2021.org/) will be held June 13th-17th, 2021, with the focus on two important topics in the sciences today:
Translational Science and the Promotion of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
In keeping with these topics, we are expanding the meeting in exciting ways. To keep our members safe and healthy and reduce or slow the spread of COVID-19, we have made the decision to hold the meeting 100% virtually. In addition, we are partnering with the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology (ESMTB), the Japanese Society for Mathematical Biology (JSMB), and others to bring accessibility of SMB2021 to all time zones! That’s right; the meeting will run 24 hours/day! If you are planning to submit an abstract, you will be able to request a convenient time zone and every effort will be taken to accommodate this request.
We will also be offering exciting opportunities for early career researchers through the Early Career Workshop on June 12th and the Mentoring Program that takes place throughout the conference. More information about these opportunities can be found at https://www.smb2021.org/mentoring!
To help maximize the participation of people across the world, we are also extending abstract submission deadlines:

Contributed talks and posters: March 15th, 2021
We look forward to receiving your proposals and very much hope that you will participate in SMB2021. Registration will open at the end of February. More information can be found at https://www.smb2021.org/registration-information. A small registration fee will be charged to partially cover the third-party virtual platform cost for your participation.
- High School & Undergraduate Students: Free (Zoom access only) or $10 (Zoom & Sococo access)
- Graduate Students: $10
- Postdoctoral Scholars: $20
- Academic Faculty & Industry: $30 for SMB members or $65 for non-SMB members
- It will be possible to request a fee waiver
