Professor Chang-Ock Lee Received Academic Achievement Award from KSCM

The Korean Society for Computational Mechanics (KSCM) honored Professor Chang-Ock Lee of the Mathematical Sciences Department with a prestigious academic award at its annual conference, February 1-3, 2018.

KSCM presented him with the Academic Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding scholarship.

The award ceremony took place on February 2, 2018 at Seogwipo KAL Hotel in Jeju.

Professor Lee has earned a distinguished reputation in computational mathematics that involves the design and analysis of mathematical models for various problems by employing methods of numerical solution and approximation of partial differential equations on parallel computers, for example.

He currently serves as Director of the Global Institute for Talented Education, KAIST.

KSCM was founded on December 1, 2010 as the Korean branch of the International Association for Computational Mechanics, as well as the Asian branch of the Asian Pacific Association for Computational Mechanics. It promotes knowledge exchange and networking among researchers in computational mechanics from such disciplines as mathematics, mechanics, civil engineering, aerospace, and shipbuilding.
