The KAIST Department of Mathematical Sciences publishes a math problem on the department website every week, encouraging participation from all students regardless of their major or academic year. At the end of each semester, the POW award ceremony is held to present certificates and prizes to students with the highest cumulative scores, aiming to enhance students’ mathematical thinking skills.

The award recipients for the Spring 2024 semester POW are as follows:

  • 1st Prize: Kim Junhong (Department of Mathematical Sciences, UG)
  • 2nd Prize: Chae Jiseok (Department of Mathematical Sciences, Integrated MS/PhD Program)
  • 2nd Prize: Jung YoungHun (Freshman Division, UG)
  • 3rd Prize: Shin Jungyeon (Department of Mathematical Sciences, UG)
  • 3rd Prize: Anar Rzayev (School of Computing, UG)

Most of the award-winning students attended the ceremony in person, adding to the event’s success. However, Anar Rzayev participated online from Seoul due to personal commitments. Professor Ji Oon Lee, who participated as a problem setter, presented the awards and shared insights about the problems he created.
