Six undergraduate students from the Mathematical Sciences Department, KAIST, won prizes as a result of participation in the 2018 Simon Marias Mathematics Competition (SMMC).
Launched in 2017, the SMMC is an annual international competition that aims to encourage creative mathematical problem-solving among undergraduate students and forge links between academics, students, and universities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Participating students, entering either as individuals or in pairs, took the exam on October 13, 2018 at a registered local university in each country in the region, such as Australia, India, Indonesia, and New Zealand. KAIST joined the competition for the first time this year.
