The Korean Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (KSIAM) hosted its fall conference on December 2-5, 2021 at BEXCO in Busan.
Hyukpyo Hong, a graduate student in the Department of Mathematical Sciences received the 2021 KSIAM Poster Award as recognition for research excellence.
His research entitled “Derivation of Stationary Distributions of Stochastic Chemical Reaction Networks via Network Translation” provides an effective tool to investigate analytical properties of a continuous-time Markov chain based on the structural properties of the underlying biochemical reaction networks.
He conducted this research under the guidance of Professor Jae Kyoung Kim.
