May 14, 2010[Notice on attendance]
On the ‘Syllabus’, it is written that ‘If you miss more than three classes without permission during the semester, your course grade will be lowered by one step’. This expression is somehow vague and some students argued that students who missed less than four classes should not be lowered. On this problem, we had some discussions and finally we decided to accept their opinion. In conclusion, if you missed 3 classes(3 lateness is equivalent to 1 absence) and were late 2 times, then your grade will not be lowered. If you missed more than or equal to 4 classes, then your grade will be lowered.

5월 5일 수요일이 어린이날이라서 수요일 연습반 수업이 불가능합니다. 목요일 연습반은 변동이 없습니다. 수요일 연습반 보강일정은 다음과 같습니다.
시간 : 5월 6일 목요일 밤 11시-12시
장소 : 기존 연습반 강의실
위에 공지한 시간에 수업에 출석이 불가능한 학생은 같은 조교의 목요일 연습반(저녁 7-8시)에 출석하실 수 있습니다. 그 시간 또한 출석할 수 없는 학생은 총괄조교에게 5월 2일 일요일 자정까지 e-mail(cm0222_at_kaist.ac.kr)을 보내주시기 바랍니다.

어제까지 연습반 신청접수를 끝마쳤습니다. 아래의 공지사항대로 수요일 신청인원이 우려했던 것만큼 많지는 않았습니다. 그래서 기한 내에 e-mail신청을 한 학생들은 원하는 요일에 배정할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 그런데 기한을 지키지 않은e-mail신청자까지 고려하는 경우에는 수요일 신청인원이 목요일 신청인원의 2배에 달할 만큼 많았습니다. 그래서 정상적인 신청절차(직접신청, 졸업식 참석자의 기한 내 e-mail신청)를 통해 연습반 신청을 하지 않은 학생은 목요일 연습반 중 인원이 적은 반에 강제 배정하기로 결정하였습니다. 다른 수업 수강으로 인해 목요일 연습반 수강이 불가능한 학생에 대해서는 링크해둔 사유확인서를 제출하는 경우에 한해서만 수요일로 변경할 수 있습니다. 제출장소와 시간은 다음과 같습니다.

오늘 수요일 연습반 신청을 받았는데 신청인원수가 우려했던 것만큼 많지는 않았습니다. 졸업식 참석 때문에 e-mail로 기한 내에 연습반 신청한 학생들은 모두 원하는 요일에 배정할 수 있을 것입니다. 연습반 최종 배정결과는 2월 16일 화요일 저녁 6시 이전에 교과목 홈페이지를 통해 공지될 예정이니 그 이후에 홈페이지에 나온 배정결과를 보고, 다음 주 연습반은 반드시 출석하시기 바랍니다. 그리고 이번 주 결석에 대해 출석인정을 받기 위해서는 반드시 졸업장(또는 사본)을 가지고 오셔야 합니다.

졸업식 참석 때문에 첫 연습시간에 연습반 등록이 어려운 학생들에게 e-mail로 연습반 신청을 받고 있습니다. 그런데 현재까지 받은 메일을 확인해보니 지나치게 수요일로 편중되는 현상이 나타나고 있습니다. 수강하고 있는 수업시간 때문에 어쩔 수 없이 수요일 연습반을 수강해야 하는 경우가 아니라면, 목요일 연습반으로 신청하시기를 부탁드리는 바입니다. 만약 수요일 연습반의 정원이 모자라는 경우에는 사유서를 제출받아 타당한 이유가 있는 경우에만 원하는 요일로 배정해야 할 수도 있습니다.

February 4, 2010[How to register for a recitation class(in Korean) ]
모든 학생은 2월 둘째 주에 반드시 연습반 한반에 등록해야 합니다. 수요일에 16반, 목요일에 15반이 개설되어 있습니다. 학생은 자신이 원하는 연습반에 연습시간에 맞춰서 찾아가는 것을 통해서 연습반 등록을 할 수 있습니다. 연습반은 수업을 듣고 있는 반과 관계없이 자신이 원하는 반을 선택할 수 있습니다. 단, 한 반에서 수용가능한 최대 학생수는 40명이니 이 점 유의하시기 바랍니다. 모든 조교는 선착순으로 학생을 받게 될 것 입니다. 이와 같은 방법으로 연습반을 배정받지 못한 학생은 학생수에 여유가 있는 반에 강제 배정될 예정입니다. 연습반 위치, 담당조교, 시간은 TA INFORMATION 파일을 통해서 확인할 수 있습니다.

1. 졸업식 참석 때문에 첫 연습시간에 연습반 등록이 어려운 학생은 총괄 조교(강철민)에게 신청을 원하는 요일, 학번, 이름 적어서 e-mail(cm0222_at_kaist.ac.kr)로 보내주시기 바랍니다. e-mail은 2월 9일 화요일 자정까지 받겠습니다. 선착순으로 연습반에 직접 출석하여 등록하는 것을 원칙으로 하기 때문에, 특정 반을 지정해서 신청을 받을 수는 없습니다. 다만, 불가피한 사정임을 감안하여 신청 요일에는 벗어나지 않도록 배정하겠습니다.
2. 졸업식 참석으로 인해 수업 및 연습에 결석하게 되는 경우에는 각 수업 및 연습에 배정된 담당조교에게 졸업장(또는 사본)을 확인 받으시면 결석으로 인한 불이익이 주어지지 않을 것이니, 담당조교에게 반드시 졸업장을 확인 받으시길 바랍니다.

If you have any question on Calculus I, you can freely post an article on the Q&A board. Posting an article is much better than sending to the head TA an e-mail because what you wonder is everyone’s wonder:) When you post an article, you may write it in either Korean or English.
February 1, 2010[Enrollment of recitation class]
During the 2nd week February, all students have to enroll in one of the recitation classes. There are 16 recitation classes on Wednesday and 15 recitation classes on Thursday, among which 30 classes are Korean and one is English. You can freely choose your recitation class on first-come first-serve basis. To register for a recitation class, you simply go to the recitation classroom at next week first recitation class. The maximum number of students in each recitation class is 40. TA INFORMATION file will help you to choose your recitation class and the recitation room for each recitation section is indicated in the same file.
